Will there be a Scream 7?
While Scream 6 just hit theaters, directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are already thinking about the next installment!
Created in 1996, Wes Craven’s saga continues to delight fans. Ghostface continues to inspire young and old alike. The directors were interviewed by American media Meeting : “We hope. We want to see scream movies for the rest of our days, whether we’re in it or not.” says Matt Bettinelli-Olpin. For his part, Tyler Gillet recalled how happy he was to have Scream 6 on the bill, which itself had been filmed immediately after the release of the fifth.
According to website screen geek, Paramount would have already given its approval to film a 7th part in the course of 2023. At the casting we would… find the survivors! According to rumors, Neve Campbell, absent from the sixth part, the actress could return to this legendary film. However, nothing official has been announced, it will certainly depend on the box office, but all forecasts point to a success for this new work. The saga undoubtedly has many good years ahead of it.
What can we expect? Scream 6 has already changed the codes of the saga by setting the story in the heart of New York. Usually the evil character Ghostface committed his crimes in isolated houses with lonely characters. Screenwriters James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick seemed reluctant to set the action in a city as vibrant as New York, but apparently managed to make the city spooky. Will they manage to be that innovative for a next installment? We stay alert…
