Will Jonathan Majors be recast in the MCU?
The 33-year-old actor was arrested by police on Saturday March 18 for domestic violence against a 30-year-old woman. He who was set to be the MCU’s new flagship antagonist is now on the brink of being recast by Marvel, who await the outcome of the current case.
Jonathan Majors, who was taken into police custody in New York a month ago for assaulting and strangling a young woman, sees his film career stalling. Indeed the star of Creed III etc from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was released this week by talent management firm Entertainment 360, which manages his career. The PR agency The Lede Company also canceled its contract with the actor, as did the fashion house Valentino, which decided to stop working with him. The actor, after all, won’t be attending the Met Gala, where he was one of the expected guests earlier this year.
Only Marvel seems hesitant about its future within the MCU at the moment. The institution of the superhero film is visibly willing to reserve the outcome of the court case for its decision. Regardless of the outcome of the trial, he will be playing his character Kang in Season 2 of Inevitable Loki which has already been shot.
His presence in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty planned for 2025 is in question due to the current case. However, Marvel would have already started the big maneuvers to find a possible replacement for Jonathan Majors in the style of Damson Idris.
