Which Ravi risks if found guilty of using illegal services to claim military exemptions
On January 12, it was announced that a major brokerage organization was under investigation for helping celebrities, athletes and children from wealthy families falsify their medical records in order to be exempted from military service.
It was allegedly admitted that a famous idol rapper, “A”, was exempted from military service because of her. According to the media, this rapper is actually Ravi from VIXX.
Ravi’s agency, GROOVL1N, said it is closely investigating the truth of the situation, but we have yet to hear any official news after the initial allegations.
If that turns out to be true, let’s see what the rapper might face if he was found guilty of intentionally dodging military service via a broker.
On Jan. 19, KBS’s All Year Live revealed more details about VIXX Ravi’s allegations of violating the draft law.
According to the broadcaster, prosecutors discovered that Ravi had approached the broker named “Gu” for advice regarding military service.
It was later revealed that Ravi was introduced to a hospital and neurologist in Seoul by Gu and diagnosed with epilepsy.
This would have allowed him to lower his military rating to Class 4 (non-active duty) instead of being an active-duty soldier.
What is Ravi really risking if he is guilty?
Anyone who runs away, hides, (deliberately) injures or cheats in order to avoid or reduce compulsory military service is punished with a prison sentence of “between one and five years” under Section 86 of the Military Service Act. »
A representative attorney explained:
“If it is determined that you have broken this law, you will be required to undergo another physical examination. You must re-serve according to your (original) rank. Even if you have been sentenced to more than a year in prison for exemption from military service, you can still serve again recently because the decree implementing the Military Service Act was revised. »
KBS announced that they tried to contact Ravi’s agency but were unsuccessful. As a result, public attention is focused on what additional positions Ravi will reveal in the future and the findings of the investigation.
