Jo Yuri’s personal life, ‘Idol School’ era, Produce 48 & IZ*ONE ventures
Jo Yuri is a South Korean singer who was born on October 22, 2001 in Busan. Yuri dreamed of becoming a singer from an early age, from the age of 14.

This led to her attending JYP Entertainment’s 13th Open Audition. However, she didn’t make it. The young singer then moved to Stone Music Entertainment, where her audition was a success.
Yuri took part in the famous Mnet survival reality show “Idol School” under Stone Music Entertainment.

Unfortunately, Yuri was placed at number 15 in his episode 10 and ultimately failed to join the final debut lineup. This particular area is popularly known as the fourth generation group of is_9.
In May 2018, Yuri participated in Mnet’s Produce series entitled Produce 48. She also represented her respective company Stone Music Entertainment. During the survival program, Yuri was praised for her deep and powerful voice.

Yuri also became a member of a team called “Memory Fabricators” which included Jang Gyuri, Na Go Eun, Yabuki Nako and LE SSERAFIM Kim Chaewon. The singer received a total of 294,734 votes, earning him a spot in the show’s first final cast.

Finally, on August 30, 2018, Yuri became a member of the girl group of the IZ*ONE project. The group officially debuted on October 29, 2018 with the release of their debut album “Color*Iz” with the title track “La Vie en Rose”.
Jo Yuri’s dream of becoming a singer finally came true, fueling her endeavors with the group that has become one of the top-selling K-pop girl groups.

Her successful debut was followed by consecutive hits such as “Violeta” (2019), “Fiesta” (2020), “Secret Story of the Swan” (2020) and “Panorama” (2020).

On April 29th KST, IZ*ONE officially ended its group activities due to their contractual dissolution. This resulted in all members pursuing different individual careers, while some banded together to join groups.
Notable group mentions include Chaewon and Sakura on THE SSERAFIM, and Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung on IVE. In the meantime, Yuri decided to go alone.

Following the dissolution of IZ*ONE, Jo Yuri joined her new agency, WAKEONE Entertainment, after her previous agency, Stone Music Entertainment, was closed by CJ ENM due to a management reshuffle.

Yuri officially made her solo debut on October 7th, 2021 when she released her debut album “GLASSY” and the title track of the same name.
This was followed by his first ever solo comeback and extended set “Op.22 Y-Waltz: in Major” alongside the title track “Love Shhh!”. June 2, 2022.
On October 22, 2022, Yuri released “Op.22 Y-Waltz: in Minor”, his second single with the lead single “Loveable”.

She has also become active in her promotions and has gone through activities such as live comeback scenes, appearing on variety shows, producing OSTs and more. Besides her music, Yuri also has her own vlog content that she uploads for her GLASSY fandoms to watch.
