Where is former CLC Seungyeon now? Here is the status of the group leader Kpop News

Jang Seungyeon is a former member and leader of the girl group CLC, who has managed to become one of the representatives of 3rd generation K-pop. Following the dissolution of CLC following the expiration of the membership contract, here are Seungyeon’s current activities and whereabouts.

Before his debut, Seungyeon attended the prestigious Seoul School of Performing Arts, where many idols studied and became one of K-pop’s leading artists.

On May 12, 2014, G.NA released the music video for the track “Secret”, which featured five of the CLC members as backup dancers.

The crew consisted of members Seunghee, Yujin, Sorn, Yeeun, and Seungyeon himself. From then on, Seungyeon was trained to smile, dance, and stare in front of a camera. She also appeared in BTOB’s “Beep Beep” MV.

Seungyeon finally debuted with CLC on March 19, 2015. The group had officially released their debut mini-album, First Love, with the title track Pepe. It was followed by their first digital single “Eighteen”. The group traded under Cube Entertainment.

CLC then made their second comeback on May 28, 2015 with the mini-album “Question” with the title track “Like”. Originally a five member group, on February 23, 2016, CLC added two more members namely Eunbin and Elki.

2016 was a historic year for CLC as it was also the year the girl group made their first debut in Japan and gave fans their official name Cheshire. On March 7, 2016, the leadership role of the CLC was passed to Seungyeon, previously held by her peer Seunghee.

With the CLC’s roster and role finalized, the group followed a string of bops in the remaining years. CLC has released critically acclaimed songs such as “High Heels” (2016), “Hobgoblin” (2017), “Where Are You?”. (2017), Toward Heaven (2018), Black Dress (2018). “N°1” (2019), “Me” (2019), “Devil” (2019) and “Helicopter” (2020).

From December 2020 to May 2022, CLC members were nearing the expiration date of their contracts. This led to Cube Entertainment and the members of CLC entering into a series of mutual exit and renewal agreements.

On March 18, 2022, Cube Entertainment released an official statement announcing the expired contracts of Seungyeon and Yeeun. He also announced that Seungyeon will be leaving the group and agency.

On February 8, 2023, Seungyeon reportedly pursued his solo career and signed with his new agency, Wild Entertainment.

With Seungyeon’s new start at Wild Entertainment, fans are sure to be excited to see what the idol has in store for them. Seungyeon has come a long way with CLC, and with experience from their previous affiliations, fans are counting on the idol to shine on its own!
