Weverse is reportedly launching ‘Weverse DM’ messaging service, mixed reactions
The Weverse platform is well known to Kpop fans. It offers fans various services related to their favorite kpop artists.
It had previously become known that the platform wanted to expand.
On April 20th, media reported that HYBE is about to launch its own messaging service between fans and artists called “Weverse DM”.
This service would be available from next week.
The service will reportedly allow fans to “exchange direct messages with their beloved artists ‘like they do with friends.'”
In addition, fans can also receive photos, videos and emojis from their favorite artists, and the service can be purchased through “Jelly”, an official Weverse digital currency.
This move by Weverse comes as no surprise as more K-pop entertainment companies are turning to messaging services to create a more personalized fan experience.
In fact, Weverse DM should offer an experience similar to DearU Bubble.
Reactions to this news were mixed. Below the comments we can read:
- “I hate paid communication”
- “Please, do not do that. It pays for communication. If an artist wants to come, it’s better to come when he wants. I don’t like it when artists are tied to a form and have to do it.”
- “There will be a lot of people who will pay for it and write bad reviews”
- “No I do not want this. If you want to make money, please manage Weverse and Weverse Shop well.”
- “Please don’t do that, idols just come when they want to come. HYBE can’t even handle Weverse properly now.”
- “Isn’t that just bubble?” »
- “I don’t like it when artists do it out of a sense of duty… I’ve heard of people with mental illness paying to molest idols.”
- “Paid communication seems to be uncomfortable for idols and fans. Seriously, don’t do that”
- “It’s good that there is no paid communication at Weverse”
- “What’s the difference between this and Bubble?” »
- “Isn’t Free on Weverse the biggest benefit? »
- “I don’t like paid communications, I just like Weverse”
- “I wish all paid communications in the world would go away”
