During the song’s production, the members of TXT wrote the lyrics while reflecting on their similar life experiences. Beomgyu added that Happy Fools’ message derived from his understanding of worry. In the interview, Beomgyu shared that he was worried about the consistency of his improvement.

“The song is about enjoying the moment because it’s fleeting and not worrying too much. All members of TXT and I contributed the lyrics to Happy Fools while sharing our similar experiences. It’s a song in which our honest thoughts are written.”

Then, in the following segment, Beomgyu shared his love for music, especially being one of the well-known songwriters in K-pop. Beomgyu explained that music has been his passion since the beginning. From a young age, Beomgyu was fascinated by the joys of music, which led him to discover famous artists such as ABBA and Air Supply.

However, he also revealed his struggles. In moderation, Beomgyu manages to deal with songwriting burnout because, according to the singer, hobbies can turn into work, which can interfere with his burning desires.

“Ever since I was young I was very fond of searching for songs. If I suddenly hear something that I know, I’ll go get it. That’s how I came to know more about ABBA and Air Supply. Apart from that, writing songs and creating sounds also sparked my interest.”

“I don’t write lyrics every day. Whatever the hobby, you may not like it anymore when it becomes a career. I usually write several songs in a month. Doing this every day reminds me of our choreography. I want to separate my rest and my work as much as possible.”

TXT debuted on March 4th, 2019, and that alone says how long they’ve been together. Rather than just treating each other as team members, Beomgyu said they now share a family bond.

“The members are my source of energy and joy outside of music. We’re close enough to joke about being fed up with each other’s presence. During our days off we always have fun and meet up.”

“We were close enough to see the members’ feelings just by looking at each other. Our bond has embraced our team dynamic as we treat each other like family now.”
