TREASURE’s Junghwan reveals difficulties becoming a kpop idol at a very young age

Being a kpop idol is never easy, especially when it comes to debuting.

However, one can imagine that it is even more difficult for those who start at a very young age. In fact, some idols start out very young and are still in their teens.

Junghwan from TREASURE is one of those idols that started particularly young. He was born in 2005 and debuted in 2020. He was just 15 years old when “BOY” was released.

Junghwan recently opened up about the difficulties he faced as a young boy in the world of K-Pop.

He admitted it to none other than co-leader and oldest member Hyunsuk in a one-on-one video called “T-Talk” that was posted to their YouTube channel.

In the video, Junghwan spoke of becoming famous at a young age, saying that it has been half a decade since he started training at YG Entertainment alongside its members.

“I started all this so young and grew up with you, it’s been five years. »

He revealed that the hardest part for him was breaking free at such a young age. He had to learn to manage his schedule between school and practice.

“I learned very early to survive and live on my own. »

Hyunsuk responded by revealing that he saw the plight of the maknae.

“Hyunsuk: Yes, I think you learned that very early on.

Junghwan: It was really tough back then. »

Despite everything, Junghwan has no regrets because he was well surrounded thanks to the other members.

“I’ve always seen and received good influences … I’m so grateful when I look back on them now. »

Hyunsuk praised the maknae for its stamina, saying it matured well before its old age and had a strong spirit.

“I felt so bad for you. You’re in 12th grade now, but you were younger then. You had such a strong spirit and you were absolutely determined. They thought more maturely than the other older members. »
