Therefore, with the rise of the popularity of Hallyu wave in the world, South Korea is interested in popular artists internationally.
The Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE) conducted a survey entitled “Global Hallyu Trends” to determine how Korean cultural content is perceived around the world.
In a poll of 25,000 men and women between the ages of 15 and 59 from 26 different countries, participants were asked to vote on who their current favorite Korean actor is.
Here are the 5 most popular Korean actors worldwide in 2023.
- Lee Min Ho
With 9.1% of the votes, the actor was voted number 1 in the ranking.
Despite a quiet 2022, the actor stood out in the kdrama “Pachinko”. The actor portrayed Koh Hansu, a supporting character. The kdrama received many positive reviews and was well received by audiences.
- gong yo
Gong Yoo came second with 2.7% of the votes. He is probably one of the internationally most famous faces.
Though the actor had no plans for 2022, he will always be known for his iconic roles in Coffee Prince, Goblin, Train to Busan and The Silent Sea. So it’s no surprise to see him at the top of the rankings despite his low activity.

Another internationally well-known actor. It is therefore not surprising to see him at the 3rdth 1st place in the ranking with 2.4% of the votes.
