The “XO Kitty” actress was previously a HYBE trainee
The popular To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film series released its spin-off, XO, Kitty, on May 18th.
One look at social media is enough to see that fans are obsessed with the show and its cast.
The series follows Lara Jean’s younger sister Kitty as she transfers to the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS) in Seoul, South Korea for her freshman year of high school and hopes to find love.
Fans have been delighted with the cast, which is packed with new talent to follow for years to come.
One of the actresses in the series caught viewers’ attention as she was about to debut as a kpop idol!
It’s Ryu Han Bi who plays the role of Eunice, a small role but one that made an impact.
If fans noticed that Ryu Han Bi danced a bit slower than Sunny and Gia Kim during the party scene, it’s probably because of her background as an idol trainee!
In fact, Ryu Han Bi is set to join HYBE’s new girl group produced by Min Hee Jin in 2021.
Now we all know which band it is: NewJeans! Yes, the actress could apparently have been part of the very popular girl group!
Many thought the young actress would join the label after her mother followed Min Hee Jin on Instagram and other affiliate accounts like ADOR.
However, she left the label for unknown reasons. Her mom stopped following Min Hee Jin and ADOR on Instagram.
An insider later revealed that she temporarily joined the first group of LE SSERAFIM before leaving HYBE altogether.
Born in 2004, Ryu Han Bi made her child actress debut in 2014’s drama The Eldest as Madi, the childhood friend of main character Young Sun.
Since then, Ryu has played many supporting roles in various Korean K-Dramas such as Scholar Who Walks the Night, Entourage, and Live Up to Your Name, and even made his big screen debut with the film C’est Si Bon. . ‘ followed by ‘The Sound of a Flower’ and ‘Cheer Up, Mr Lee’.
In 2018, Ryu Han Bi starred as Na Kwon (Jin Ki Joo) in the popular k-drama Come and Hug Me.
Now we can catch a glimpse of her in XO, Kitty on Netflix!
