The Glory director Ahn Gil-ho charged with molestation at school
When the long-awaited second part of the K-drama “The Glory” has just been released, the director gets into a controversy.
On March 10, The Glory director Ahn Gil-ho was charged with bullying and violence at school.
A post in an online community by an anonymous user, A, claimed Ahn physically assaulted classmates at an international school in the Philippines in 1996.
“I found out that he (the principal) was through a group chat with my old classmates from the Philippines. I don’t want to cause trouble because (Ahn Gil Ho) is doing fine. However, I can’t forgive him for having the audacity to do a K-drama that deals with school bullying like The Glory. » – Internet users
A said that at the time (1996) Ahn Gil Ho was studying abroad in the Philippines for his third year of high school while they themselves were in their second year of middle school at an international school.
They didn’t go to the same school, but A shared that Ahn Gil Ho was dating middle school student “B,” whom A and his classmates teased. After Ahn Gil Ho discovered this, he reportedly called A and his classmates to threaten and attack them.
According to the netizen, they were attacked by the director and a dozen of his friends.
“At the time I was too scared to count but there were about ten people including manager Ahn. We were then attacked, and during our interrogation, when we didn’t answer him, he threatened to stab us with a knife. We were attacked for about two hours. »
When no one answered Ahn Gil Ho’s questions about who was teasing his girlfriend, A claimed he threatened: “Bring the knife, I’ll stab her. A also said it took almost two hours.
The netizen then revealed the aftermath of that moment:
“After Rector Ahn attacked us first, he ordered our school children to attack my classmates.
Before that, we were all close because we grew up together. However, after the incident, we were beaten for not showing respect or bowing properly to our sunbaes. »
The netizen currently residing in America concluded: “If Director Ahn denies this, I will provide you with testimonies from my friends who were attacked with me. If he denies this and takes legal action, I will also actively respond. He’s shameless. »
On March 10, Netflix was contacted by the media and replied that it was “Situation checked”.
Moreover, Ahn Gil Ho has personally denied the allegations, saying that although he studied abroad in the Philippines for a year, he had no memory of hitting anyone.
