The 16 MBTIs ranked by their rarity in Korea and their associated kpop idols
Do you know the MBTI? The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a psychological assessment tool that determines a person’s psychological type from among sixteen different types, and Koreans love it so much that it has become one of the most popular questions to ask when meeting someone.
The MBTI gives 4 letters that summarize the salient points of a personality type. It’s actually simplified code that can seem collusive if you just skim through the profiles.
Anyhow, we decided to create a list of the 16 MBTIs, classified from most common to least common (in % of population), and to associate the personalities that go with them. (Please note we cannot accommodate ALL celebrities of every MBTI)
- ISFJs – 22%
SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan and TWICE’s Dahyun share this common type.
- ESFJ – 16%
Some of the K-pop idols you might recognize include ITZY’s Yeji and Stray Kids’ Felix.
- ISTJ – 13%
ISTJs like Twice’s Tzuyu and Red Velvet’s Irene are reserved, practical, and quiet.
- INFJ – 11%
BTS’ J-Hope and BIGBANG’s Taeyang share this deep and driven personality.
- ENFJ – 6%
TXT’s Beomgyu and Stray Kids’ Bang Chan are examples of this personality type.
- INTJ – 5%
Known for being efficient, ambitious and analytical, ITZY’s Ryujin and CRAVITY’s Jungmo are among K-pop’s most well-known INTJs.
- INFPs – 5%
BTS’ V and IU share this dreamy and imaginative personality type. You might even consider them romantics!
- INTP – 4%
Soyeon from (G)I-DLE and Hyunsik from BTOB are INTPs who tend to process things rationally and logically rather than emotionally.
- ESTJ – 3%
GOT7’s BamBam and NewJeans’ Minji are rare ESTJs.
- ISTP – 3%
LE SSERAFIM’s Chaewon and BTS’ Suga are ISTPs who love to get active.
- ENFP – 3%
