Tears of the Kingdom what you need to know before the game release
Here we are. There are only 10 days left until the release of the long-awaited Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
This is the direct sequel to Breath of the Wild, a first for a Zelda game.
The prequel, released in 2017, was a small revolution in the open world universe in itself.
He showed that players don’t need to be handheld to enjoy an experience. On the contrary, the freedom given is almost unprecedented.
The game inspired many others to follow and was rightfully named GOTY (Game of the Year).
So when Nintendo announced that the sequel would be released in 2019, expectations were sky high.
With 10 days to go before Tears of the Kingdom releases, what should you know about the game?
You might want to avoid spoilers about the new game, but not everything has been revealed just yet. Zelda games tend to have an aura of mystery, and Nintendo is good at keeping its secrets.
There are also already several Tears of the Kingdom trailers and a 10 minute gameplay video to check out.
Additionally, most Zelda games can be enjoyed without playing the previous adventures, although as a sequel to Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom would require you to play it.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom start date
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom release date is set for May 12, 2023. The news was confirmed on September 12th as part of the September 2022 Nintendo Direct Showcase. Tears of the Kingdom will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and other gameplay
Gameplay in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is designed to draw heavily on the more open movement and combat systems that helped define the original Breath of the Wild.
For starters, the world has expanded into the skies – with Link diving from islands floating above the clouds and using brand new abilities to quickly rise from the ground to the air.
Additionally, it looks like the sheer number of weapons available will return as it did in Breath of the Wild, with Link armed with a wooden axe, multiple swords, various shields, a bow and arrow, and more.
Between new abilities and the addition of more open-ended exploration, it looks like Tears of the Kingdom is intelligently building on what came before.
Capacités de Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will introduce a new set of powers, all designed to give Link inventive new ways to battle the forces of darkness that are spreading across Hyrule.
As with Breath of the Wild before it, the emphasis is on experimentation in the sandbox, and the four new powers give you plenty of room to play.
The four Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom abilities that we know of so far are:
- Retrospective – rewinding the time and path of physical objects
- Fusion – Create instant combinations of different weapons and items
- Grab – Combine objects to create unique structures
- Infiltration – Allows Link to teleport vertically to new platforms and locations
The story of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
From what we’ve seen from this Breath of the Wild sequel so far, it looks like Ganon’s desiccated corpse has appeared beneath Hyrule Castle and Malice’s tendrils are starting to spread again.
Nintendo is keeping this secret tight and we only have a few more days to wait before we can experience Hyrule again!
Be careful, the game has been leaked and there are spoilers all over the internet.
