Taeyang Reveals How He Came To Work With BTS’ Jimin
We finally have January 13th, a date that is eagerly awaited by Kpop fans as it marks the musical return of Taeyang in solo. What excited fans even more was that her single “VIBE” is a collaboration with BTS’ Jimin.
And the least we can say is that we were not disappointed! The song fits the voices of the two idols perfectly and their collaboration works perfectly.
An hour before the release of “VIBE,” Taeyang held a live countdown during which he interacted with fans and talked about his long-awaited comeback.
First, Taeyang greeted the fans and said: “I missed you all so much. It’s been so long since I greeted you like this. I am healthy and doing well. This is the first time I’ve released new solo music in 6 years since my 3rd album in 2017. Because it’s been so long I’m pretty nervous. »
Next, the BIGBANG member spoke about his collaboration with Jimin and how it came about:
“About 2 years ago, the members of BTS were not individually as active as they are today. I’ve been working on music ever since I got back from compulsory service, and Teddy Hyung casually said one day, “Now’s a really good time for you and Jimin to release a really good song. Everyone will love it”. When I heard that, I was really shocked. I had never thought of such a thing. »
He continued: “But because I’ve never asked people to play in my music before, it was difficult to find a way to do it. It was always on my mind, but last year I was invited to several events and got to know the members of BTS. Eventually I met Jimin and while we were talking about this and that, of course we were talking about how nice it would be to work on music together. From then on I was able to invite him into the studio to work on that song. »
Taeyang concluded by revealing what it was like working with Jimin on the music video:
« We started with the pictures first and the results exceeded our expectations so I remember we were both very pleased. We looked like a classic hip-hop duo. »
And we love this collaboration!
