Sungchan and Shotaro leave NCT to join a new group
SM Entertainment has announced that two members of NCT will be leaving the group to debut in a brand new group later this year.
It’s about Sungchan and Shotaro!
In an announcement written in both Korean and English, the agency detailed the departure of the two NCT members and their future plans.
« C’est SM Entertainment.
First of all, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the fans who love and support NCT. Below is our announcement informing you about the future plans of SUNGCHAN and SHOTARO.
As members of NCT, SUNGCHAN and SHOTARO have performed wonderfully. However, they will close their chapter with NCT and debut in a new boy band set to form in 2023.
We deeply apologize and thank the fans who support them and look forward to seeing them debut as part of a new NCT group.
After careful consideration and discussion with SUNGCHAN and SHOTARO in preparation for SM 3.0, we came to a decision that would best reflect the thoughts of the artists and each of the group’s artistic and musical directions.
We ask for your understanding and support for SUNGCHAN and SHOTARO as they start a new chapter.
NCT’s newest group will be the last group to be part of NCT’s never-ending expansion. Therefore, our goal is to create a group with a strong worldview that is truly representative of a regional identity.
Accordingly, we will increase the number of Japanese members, introduce new members and share their first journey with fans.
We will not only offer full support to NCT members, but also to SUNGCHAN and SHOTARO.
Once again we ask the fans for their unwavering and continued love and support for their future endeavors.
thank you «
