SM Entertainment announces that 9 comebacks and 2 debuts are being prepared for the third quarter of 2023
SM Entertainment has provided an update on its plans for the second and third quarters of 2023.
On May 11, SM Entertainment released an earnings report for the first quarter of 2023. In it, the K-pop agency previewed its plans for upcoming releases over the next five months through the third quarter of the year.
In terms of revenue, the label posted sales of KRW 128 billion and net income of KRW 18.7 billion in the first quarter.
The agency also shared with us their plans for the coming months with some exciting comebacks and debuts.
NCT member Taeyong is expected to release his first mini-album in the second quarter of 2023. This would make him the first member of the group to officially do a solo gig, although many of them have released solo tracks in the meantime.
In addition, SHINee will release their eighth studio album in the same period.
In a previous earnings report from SM Entertainment, the agency had planned a May 2023 release. It is currently unclear if those plans have changed.
The third trimester is very busy! SM will have a total of 9 current artist projects and will also feature two artists.
Three artists – namely EXO, NCT Dream and NCT – are expected to release studio albums within this period. In addition, Onew from SHINee is expected to release a repackaged album, presumably from “Circle”.
Artists set to release new mini-albums include TXVQ’s Yunho, Red Velvet’s Wendy, SHINee’s Key, EXO’s DO and Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon.
We don’t have any further information on the label’s two new artists at the moment, but we can’t wait to discover them.
