SM announces that NCT Tokyo will be the final expansion of NCT
SM Entertainment has released a new video showcasing their upcoming plans for SM 3.0!
In the video, SM Entertainment Co-CEOs Lee Sung Soo and Tak Young Jun addressed SM Entertainment fans who have been concerned about their favorite artists during the development of SM 3.0 and the HYBE merger and acquisition.
What particularly caught fans’ attention was the mention of NCT and future plans for SM Entertainment’s Stretch group.
NCT promotes a unique system where the group is divided into different sub-units such as NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream and WayV. The sub-units advertise and release albums separately, but have joined forces to record three full albums.
The video explains that SM 3.0 will fundamentally change NCT’s system of units.
Originally, NCT was formed as a group with “unlimited expansion”. Although there are fixed units in NCT (NCT 127, NCT DREAM and WayV), the NCT U unit changes its composition according to the concept that allows the continuous admission of new members in NCT.
On February 24, SM Entertainment announced: “We will change to the SM of the fans. With the debut of NCT Tokyo in 2023, NCT’s endless expansion will come to an end. There will be no membership changes and we will fully support existing members. »
After announcing the end of the expansion, fans and netizens were overjoyed and expressed their joy in various online communities.
- “Congratulations! »
- ” I’m excited “
- “They release a new group of boys”
- “The members had to go through so many difficulties”
- “Whoa, finally. You have to take care of the existing members.”
- ” Finally “
- » Mercy… »
- “That is what I have been waiting for”
- “Wow finally thank you”
- “Finally they are listening to the fans. »
