SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan Makes Fans Cry With His Sad Message For ASTRO’s Moonbin – Kpopnews
SEVENTEEN member Seungkwan mourned the loss of his close friend Moonbin, who recently passed away.
On April 24, posts from Moonbin’s friends mourning his death at a memorial drew attention online, including posts from Moonbin’s younger sister Moon Sua and her ASTRO members Jinjin and MJ, as well as WekiMeki’s Yoojung and SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan.
Among them, Seungkwan’s letter, who was a close friend of Moonbin’s, stood out.
Seungkwan’s touching message to Moonbin is:Moonbin, wait a bit. I’ll make the whole universe feel like it’s yours. I love you so much. Hold me tight when we meet again.”
In addition, WekiMeki’s Yoojung also expressed his heartfelt condolences, saying, “rest in peace now You took such good care of the people around you. Rest comfortably there. I will visit you often. You were so reliable and kind.“
Moonbin’s agency, Fantagio, announced through its official fan café that Moonbin’s memorial, originally scheduled to remain open until April 22, will be extended to April 30.
Seungkwan and Moonbin revealed their close friendship through their Instagram accounts, posting photos they took together. In an interview with GQ Korea in February, Moonbin named VIVIZ’s Seungkwan and SinB as idols with whom he was closely linked.
At the time, Moonbin said: “I have many memories with Seungkwan. I don’t like going out very much, but thanks to him I’ve been to many places. I’ve known SinB since I was 8 years old and it was amazing when she debuted as a member of GFRIEND.”
Moonbin also joked: “I miss Seungkwan on rainy days. However, I don’t really miss SinB.“
Previously, Seungkwan skipped SEVENTEEN’s pre-recording for Mnet’s “M Countdown” scheduled for April 20 because he wasn’t feeling well. At the time, SEVENTEEN’s agency, Pledis Entertainment, said: “It was difficult for him to attend due to his condition. We apologize to the fans and ask for your understanding.“
Moonbin was found dead at his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on April 19. Fantagio said: “Moonbin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky.”
On April 22, Moonbin’s funeral was held privately at the family’s request. Fantagio asked for understanding and said: “We ask for your generous understanding so that ASTRO members and Moonbin’s family can send her on her final journey wonderfully..”
Moonbin was born in 1998 and debuted in 2016 as a member of ASTRO. He formed the entity Moonbin & Sanha and released his mini-album INCENSE in January this year, which was very well received.
