Cristiano Ronaldo played his first competitive game at his new club Al-Nasr against Al-Ettifaq. The meeting was won by the Portuguese star’s teammates (1-0).

After a controversial gala clash against PSG last Thursday, Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut with his new Saudi club Al-Nassr against Al-Ettifaq on behalf of the 14th squad this Sunday, January 22nde Saudi League Day.

Almost 25,000 people bought their tickets to watch the Portuguese star’s first official game in an extraordinary atmosphere in the stands.

Despite a rather discreet start to the game, Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t far from finding the net in the 31st minutee minute following a cross from Abdulmajeed Al-Sulaiheem. But Brazilian Anderson Talisca managed to place his head, allowing Al-Nassr to score the only goal of the encounter.

In his first game, the five-time Ballon d’Or and new Al-Nassr captain made a good impression. He showed a big smile on the pitch at the final whistle and congratulated his partners on this victory.

Thanks to this success, Rudi Garcia’s team climbed to the top of the championship with a 33-point lead over rival Al-Hillal. Al Ittifaq, coached by compatriot Patrice Carteron, remains 10th in the table.
