Rugby: An amateur player underwent neck surgery and was taken to intensive care after a scrum

Seriously injured in the neck, Yusuf Tuncer, who plays at SC Tulle in Federal 1, had to be operated urgently this Sunday and taken to the intensive care unit of the Limoges University Hospital, the La Montagne newspaper reported.

The end of the game became tragic. While SC Tulle hosted Valence d’Agen at Federal 1 this Sunday, his supporter Yusuf Tuncer suddenly fell to the ground. During a scrum just seconds after the final punch, he collapsed before being quickly rescued by some of his teammates and an opponent, who administered first aid to him while they waited for help to arrive.

Firefighters and the Smur de Tulle took over and worked for more than an hour on the ground with the amateur rugby player, who was eventually evacuated by helicopter to Limoges University Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery on two cervical spines and was taken to intensive care.

Faced with the shock caused by this injury, the Sporting Club of Tulle decided to organize a meeting with the players, the staff and the members of the Sports Commission of the Hospital Center of Tulle and this Wednesday, February 1st, in the presence of the regulating doctor of the Ambulance Service of the doctor SC Tulle. TBS also sent a message of support to their player. “Sporting Club Tulle Corrèze and its supporters think very strongly of their right pillar Yusuf. The blue and white family is with you,” he wrote on Facebook.
