Rise of the Pink Ladies Cast, Storyline, Release Date… Everything You Need to Know About the Grease Prequel Series
Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, the prequel series to Grease, is coming soon to Paramount+. Casting, plot, release date… Here’s everything we already know about this enticing program that promises to be vintage as requested.
Originally slated for the HBO Max platform as Grease: Rydell High, the prequel series to Grease – eventually titled Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies – will air very soon on Paramount+.
While the original film focused on the love story between Sandy Olsson (played by actress Olivia Newton-John, who died in 2022) and Danny Zuko (John Travolta), the series will set its storyline four years before they met, with a particular focus on the birth the mythical group of Pink Ladies. A group of four independent and rebellious women willing to do anything to break the rules of good behavior imposed by Rydell High’s principal.

They will be performed by Madison Thompson (as seen on “Ozark”), Shanel Bailey (“The Equalizer”), Tricia Fukuhara (“Noggin Knows”) and Marisa Davila (“Atypical”).
The trailer, revealed on January 11th, suggests a modernized story but served up in an attractive retro aesthetic.
“The producers have brilliantly captured the spirit of an iconic and beloved classic film that, like ‘The Rise of the Pink Ladies,’ is both set in the past and relevant to the present,” said Nicole Clemens, president of Paramount Television Studios. Something that will delight both early fans and younger generations who haven’t experienced the famous musical starring John Travolta.
Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies is scheduled for release on April 7, 2023 on Paramount+ (available specifically through MyCanal).
