Return of the snow: ski resorts reopen this weekend
With the February holidays fast approaching, the return of snow promises the reopening of ski resorts and ski slopes that have had to close due to the weather.
Good news for anyone looking to enjoy winter sports in the coming weeks. After the snowless Christmas holidays, the snowflakes have returned. Heavy snowfalls have been registered in several mountain massifs for almost a week. The pros are relieved and hope to make up for a poorly started season.
Multiple regions affected
Small ski resorts at low altitude are ready to welcome holidaymakers again. Closing restrictions with no snowfall in mid-December, Pyrenees resorts are reopening this weekend. Several tens of centimeters of snowflakes have fallen in the last few days and have aroused the enthusiasm of many skiers who can open up new ski areas.
Not all slopes will be accessible, but several resorts have already announced their reopening, such as in Ariège with the Ax 3 Domaines resort. It’s also party time in Haute-Garonne, Lozère and the Vosges massif.
