Meet PLAVE, the Virtual Drawn Group about to debut
Kpop is expanding more and more towards other horizons, especially with groups or members in the AI who are therefore not real people.
Recently, a group that will debut very soon attracted attention because it is a virtual group… drawn!
PLAVE, what is that?
On March 4th, Vlast, an online and offline intellectual property (IP) production company, announced the launch of their virtual idol group!
The band, called PLAVE, will consist of five members and will make their official debut on March 12th with “Asterum”.
PLAVE, whose name is a fusion of Play and Rêve, consists of members Yejun, Noah, Bamby, Eunho and Hamin
What differs from other virtual groups is that the members have webtoon characters while being drawn.
The five idols are songwriters who can also compose their own songs, as well as “all-rounders” who can sing, dance and rap well.
According to their “agency”, the worldview of the group will revolve around five characters who lived in the virtual world “Kaelum” and who received the ability to communicate with humans from the “developer” of the earth.
Their single “Asterum” refers to a mysterious space that exists between Earth and Kaelum. Every track on the album was written and composed by the members of PLAVE themselves. The production was carried out by HYBE producer “EL CAPITXN” who has collaborated with BTS, IU and PSY.
The members are also active with the fans! Before their debut, the members introduced themselves via a YouTube video on their official channel. The group has had several live streams and regularly releases cover songs to showcase their talent.
Among the videos uploaded, lead singer Noah’s busking video was viewed 1.9 million times on December 24 last year in Hongdae, Seoul.
