Lucas writes a letter to fans after announcing his departure from NCT and WayV

On May 10th, SM Entertainment finally gave an official update on NCT member Lucas.

Lucas has been on hiatus for over 2 years after an ex-girlfriend accused him of gaslighting and cheating.

Many fans were hoping to see Lucas back on stage as a member of NCT. Unfortunately, SM Entertainment gave a very different message.

As a matter of fact, Lucas will leave NCT and WayV to focus on his career as a solo artist.

Following that announcement, Lucas shared a handwritten letter via his Instagram. The letter, written in Chinese, reveals the idol’s sincere feelings.

The letter was also translated into English and Korean. He shares his reason for leaving and thanks the fans for their support.

“Hello, this is Luke.

Today I have an important announcement for you.

After much deliberation and reflection, I have made the difficult decision to part ways with NCT Group and WayV. I feel sincerely sorry for the members and I leave a long-standing friendship with a heavy heart.

It has been almost 8 years since I first joined the members and I am deeply grateful for their care and support. I will cherish these memories and never forget them.

I hope members will remember me as Huang Xuxi, not just Lucas. I love her sincerely and will always support her with all my heart.

It has taken me a long time to make this decision and I believe it is the right decision for the good of all. In the future, I want to find the courage to face the fans who have been waiting for me and make individual efforts.

I believe the best way to say thank you to the fans who support me is to continue to excel.

I will strive to become a more mature Huang Xuxi and an even better Lucas.
