Lisa offered 100 billion won for label change? BLACKPINK contract rumors continue
As every year, some Idol contracts, which usually run for 7 years, come to an end. As a result, there is a risk for certain groups of losing members, changing labels or even separating for good.
Surely the group that all eyes are on this year is BLACKPINK, whose contract is expiring.
BLACKPINK’s deal with YG Entertainment has been rumored for a while. In fact, many fans wish the girls hadn’t re-signed to the label because they feel they aren’t getting enough promotions.
Recently rumors surfaced that the band would be signing to The Black Label. Yg replied that the girls’ contracts had not yet expired.
Now, on January 23, new rumors surfaced. Munhwa Ilbo news agency reported that members are offered much higher guarantees elsewhere than YG Entertainment.
According to an insider, Lisa is being offered KRW 100 billion to switch labels, which is next to impossible for YG Entertainment.
In fact, insiders estimate that YG Entertainment should offer at least KRW 20 billion per member. Some also believe that YG Entertainment is launching Baby Monsters to mitigate the potential failure to secure BLACKPINK’s renewal deal.
As of now, we don’t know what will happen to BLACKPINK’s future and only time will tell what the group wants.
What do you wish for the band?
