Kyoungyoon From KDZ JMS Cult Member? Korean netizens have found more evidence
After the release of the viral documentary on Netflix titled In the Name of God, a Holy Betrayal, the kpop world was turned upside down.
The documentary reveals the truth behind the Providence cult, better known as JMS, and the crimes of its founder, Jung Myung Seokwho is said to have sexually abused (groomed) and exploited many of his young followers.
It was revealed that DKZ member Kyoungyoon’s family has been linked to the cult.
In fact, the café run by the idol’s family was associated with a local church called Youngduk Ju Mideum (Youngduk Trusts in God), one of the churches listed as belonging to the JMS cult.
Shortly after this revelation, DKZ agency Dongyo Entertainment released a statement saying that Kyoungyoon was unaware that the cafe was associated with JMS.
The agency said Kyoungyoon’s parents had also severed ties with the sect and shut down their business, which is known to be associated with the pseudo-religion.
Despite this, many Internet users do not believe in the innocence of the idol.
Recently, they returned to the idol imagery of a tree growing out of a rock closely resembling the rock and tree revered by JMS devotees as “The Miracle of Jung Myung Suk.”
Many fans defended the idol, saying that the painting may not have represented the rock of JMS, or that he may have visited the place with his parents without knowing what it was.
However, netizens have discovered what they describe as “evidence” that Kyoungyoon was in fact part of the cult.
A netizen found a photo of Kyoungyoon wearing a sweater designed exclusively for JMS Youth.
The netizen explained: “Proof Kyoungyoon believes in JMS. In one of the videos posted on DKZ’s official TikTok account, Kyoungyoon wears SS Blue Bird outerwear designed exclusively for the youth group.
You cannot get this outerwear if only your parents are part of JMS as it was exclusive to members of the JMS youth group. Kyoungyoon was able to get this sweater because it’s part of JMS. »
After seeing this, many netizens expressed their disappointment with the idol. Some of the most popular comments are:
- “I doubt his parents left the cult. If it was so easy to disconnect and leave the cult, why didn’t they leave sooner? »
- “Wow, I’m speechless”
- “He must leave the group to save the group”
- “I get goosebumps because maybe his fans wanted to wear the same sweater as him and were looking for that brand.”
- “Damn, he was really looking forward to showing that he was part of this cult.”
- “It’s so crazy”
- “So it was true that he was part of JMS”
- “So he showed in a subtle way that he was part of this cult from the start, even with the painting. »
