Korean Boys Planet participants who have previously been in Kpop groups
Boys Planet is an ongoing reality TV show produced by Mnet to create a global K-pop boy band. The show is a male version of “Girls Planet 999,” the survival program that spawned the girl group Kep1er.
Fans discovered new faces early on and recognized faces quickly. Boys Planet trainees are divided into two groups: Group K for Korean applicants and Group G for global applicants.
Some of the contestants had previously been in a K-pop group. Here’s a look at these Group K contestants from the survival show.
- Kim Ji Woong
He is currently an actor under Nest Management and was a former member of boy band INX and pre-debut groups BIT and ATEEN.
As a member of the group, he used the stage name “Ji Nam”. He was also previously a contestant in Burn Up 30.
- Lee Seung Hwan
He is a former member of the project group 1THE9 and the apprentice group PlayM BOYS. 1THE9, who debuted on April 13, 2019, were on an 18-month contract and were officially dissolved on August 8, 2020 after their exclusive contract expired.
He is best known for his appearances on reality TV shows Under Nineteen, LOUD, and Boys Planet.
- Yoon Jong Woo
He is the former maknae of boy band Black Level as Ze:U (제우), who debuted in February 2022.
On November 29, 2022, VT Entertainment announced that Jong-woo, along with three other members, had left the group to pursue their idol dreams separately.
- Cha Woong Ki
Also known as Woong Gi, he is a South Korean singer and actor under WAKEONE. He is a former member of boy band TO1, which debuted in 2020. He left the group in 2022.
He is best known for appearing in front of Boys Planet on the reality show World Klass.
- Oh Sung Min
Oh Sung Min, formerly known as Jerome, is another former member of K-pop boy band TO1. He placed eighth on the reality show World Klass, part of the boy band TOO, now known as TO1.
On July 17, 2022, WAKEONE Entertainment announced that Sung Min has left the group but is still under the agency.
