Jennie (BLACKPINK) will be at the Cannes Film Festival this year!

In fact, for this 2023 edition, “The Idol” will be present at the festival out of competition.

Produced and co-directed by The Weeknd with Sam Levinson (Euphoria), the series tells the story of the relationship between a rising pop star and a Hollywood music cult leader. Starring again are Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan and The Weeknd himself, but Jennie (BLACKPINK) is also part of the cast.

The Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 16th to 27th this year.

Then, on May 12, YG Entertainment confirmed that Jennie would indeed be in France to attend the festival.

The agency said: “Jennie will be attending the Cannes Film Festival on May 22 with her role in ‘The Idol.’ The series is invited to the festival in the “hors” category. »
