On March 6th, Jisoo officially announced exciting news for BLINKs by uploading a teaser. append for his forthcoming solo debut.

The poster featured a mysterious caption, “Coming Soon,” which intrigued fans even more. It also teases a nature-related concept, treating BLINKs to a lush, relaxing landscape.
BLACKPINK Jisoo’s solo debut is scheduled for release on March 31, 2023 (Friday).
Jisoo’s solo debut announcement came on January 2nd when YG confirmed his project, which is due out in 2023. In their announcement, they informed fans that Jisoo is working on his music production and a jacket photoshoot.

While the idol was indeed busy with BLACKPINK’s world tour, she still managed to deliver on her promise to fans of a solo debut. Jisoo will be the last BLACKPINK member to debut as a solo artist after Jennie, Rosé and Lisa.
Since BLACKPINK’s first solo member debut with Jennie on November 12, 2018, fans biased by Jisoo have been wondering when the group’s oldest member will get time to shine. With his announcement, BLINKs can now take a break as Jisoo will finally make his solo debut.

On May 29, 2022, Jisoo was also interviewed by the magazine rolling Stone for the June 2022 issue. During the interview, the singer hinted at a possible solo project and explained how much she likes various bands, especially rock music.
“I don’t know yet how much I want to go solo. I like different bands and rock music. I’m not sure (yet) what’s going to happen with my solo projects this year.”

BLINK expressed her anticipation for Jisoo’s solo. They praised the poster’s simplicity but were excited to see what kind of music it would feature. Some commented on how long they waited for Jisoo to get his own music.
Fans remarked:

“It gives off a bit of a cold vibe. I want to see Smokey Jisoo. I’m already excited.
“I’m curious about the song. I hope it’s going to be a rock ballad.”
Did Jisoo film her MV abroad? YG Entertainment confirms this in a statement
On February 21, YG Entertainment announced that Jisoo’s solo MV was filmed overseas. They added that the cost of producing the music video is the highest of any BLACKPINK release.
