“I can’t do this anymore,” says the legendary Korean actress, who was considering retirement
legendary actress Kim Hye Soo admitted she had considered retiring.

In the video, Kim Hye Soo confides in Song Yoon Ah and admits that the filming of her latest hit drama sous the queen’s umbrella, has affected it.

In Under the Queen’s umbrella, Kim Hye Soo plays a queen who does her best to protect her princes from the dangers of the royal court while she tries to uncover the truth behind her son’s death. The drama received rave reviews and was both a critical and commercial success.
It seems that the drama’s success came at a price for the actress, as she described how difficult it was for her to direct the drama.
The best part about wrapping up the drama is knowing I don’t have to stay up all night reading the script. I never wanted to live that long, but I feel like filming the drama took three years of my life. I thought, ‘I’m going to die three years early.’ I regret nothing. I did everything I could in the moments (I filmed).

Kim Hye Soo revealed that her difficulties were not only physical but also emotional. The actress went on to say that she had considered retiring on several occasions, citing the stifling expectations the public had of her.
To be honest it was so lonely and difficult. I thought I should stop, ‘I can’t do this anymore. It is too hard. I will resign. And despite all that hard work, the audience says, “This is Kim Hye Soo.” It’s not surprising that she plays well. It’s cruel, but I know it’s natural, but I’ve always been alone.

She made her debut in 1986 and became instantly famous when she received her first award for Best New Actress in Motion Picture 1987 Baesang Prize.
