How To: Tips for Using Henna Easily
Gently squeeze the cone to create a thin, smooth line. Start with 1 end of your hand and end at the other end. As you continue to apply the henna all over your hands, be careful not to touch the henna on the skin.
If you prefer a thicker line, increase the pressure. Do not let the tip touch the skin, especially if it is metal. This will not harm the skin, but it will create a bright spot in the final design. Remove any stains with water quickly. A dress shirt would work best.
4. Wait until the henna dries
Henna can start to dry after 15 minutes, but you should wait at least 30 minutes for it to dry completely. If you want a dark, long-lasting stain, you need to leave it on for a long time.
5. Use moisturizer
After a while, the henna will dry. This can take anywhere from a few days to 2 weeks. However, to help the henna last longer, apply hand lotion or oil.
Do not remove your skin with scrubbing. Olive oil and jojoba oil are good choices. Chlorine can cause henna tattoos to fade, so be sure to apply petroleum jelly or chapstick to keep them from drying out.
