Handball World Cup 2023: The already qualified Blues continue their flawless victory against Iran (41:29)
France won their fifth match at the World Handball Championship this Friday, January 20 against Iran (41-29). Qualified for the Quarterfinals before kick-off, the Blues continued their flawless run.
Unstoppable. Already victorious in four games in as many games since the start of the competition and already qualified for the quarter-finals, the French team drove the nail in this Group 1 of the Handball World Championship. After a timid start to the competition against Poland (26-24), Guillaume Gille’s men have continued to gain momentum.
This is proven in the game of the day against Iran, in which the Blues increased the gap from the first quarter of an hour: With an 18:14 lead at half-time, the Iranian team couldn’t raise the bar.
The Blues eventually won 41-29 at the end of that meeting and take on Spain at the end of the main round on Sunday. One last game without action, but which will serve as a test before the start of the quarter-finals on Wednesday 25th January.
