Football: Death of Modeste M’bami, former PSG and OM player
Former Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain player Modeste M’Bami died this Saturday, January 7, of complications from a heart attack.
The football world mourns the loss of one of the personalities of the French championship. Modeste M’Bami, former Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain player and Cameroonian international, died on Saturday January 7 at the age of 40, PSG announced on Twitter.

The player “died of a heart attack,” the team said. Born in Yaoundé in 1982, Modeste M’Bami wore the colors of PSG between 2003 and 2006 before joining OM between 2006 and 2009. The Cameroonian also won the Olympic Games with his national team in 2000.
“My friend, former Cameroon international, (…) left today, rest in peace Modeste,” his former agent Franck Belhassen wrote on social media.

Olympique de Marseille also responded to the player’s disappearance on Twitter. “All our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of our former Olympian,” the club said.
