Fan Sasaeng breaks into Haechan’s house by NCT, SM responds
Sasaeng fans are extreme fans who will stop at nothing to get close to their favorite performers, sometimes even going so far as to invade their privacy.
Many incidents have been reported over the years and the latest involves NCT’s Haechan.
It seems that a sasaeng fan has invaded Haechan’s privacy by breaking into the artist’s private apartment.
As a result, on March 6, SM Entertainment openly criticized the harassment of fans for invading the privacy of NCT members and warned of strict legal action against them.

” Good morning. This is SM Entertainment.
We offer our position on the recent increase in actions that seriously invade the privacy of NCT members.
Members have suffered greatly from repeated inappropriate acts such as illicitly visiting and waiting for places related to the daily life of NCT members, following their vehicles, excessively contacting or photographing members in the security zone from the airport, including on board the plane, but also fans who illegally obtained personal information to contact them indiscriminately and spread malicious rumors.
In particular, at the end of November last year, there was an incident where a so-called “sasaeng” (referring to people who invade privacy. Celebrities) broke into Haechan’s home. Since Haechan lives with his family, not only Haechan but also his family complained that they had suffered significant psychological damage.
The person “sasaeng” was charged by the prosecutor’s office, even though [l’affaire] generously completed without criminal sanctions according to Haechan’s wishes, it showed the seriousness of the problem of invasion of artists’ privacy, and we decided to disclose the situation to make it a warning to avoid such a problem from happening again .
We reiterate that such acts are not acts of expressing interest in artists, but instill fear in artists and that this is a crime of arson causing serious harm not only to the individual but also to his family and acquaintances .
We hope that sasaengs will stop violating artists’ privacy immediately.
Going forward, we will strictly treat illegal acts such as saesaeng burglary, personal information leakage and harassment with zero tolerance. The Agency will use all means to pursue vigorous legal action and we ask that you exercise caution not to become involved in such shameful events.
