Dordogne: A body recovered by firefighters

After receiving a report from a man cleaning his boat, firefighters recovered a lifeless body in Bergerac, New Aquitaine, on the morning of Friday January 13.

A tragic event. This Friday at around 10.30 a.m., a body was pulled out of the water at the La Pelouse campsite in Bergerac below Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau. A man washing his boat saw a floating body and immediately notified authorities.

The Samu doctor declared death on the spot after a team of fire brigade divers recovered the body.

An investigation has been opened

If the department’s Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis 24) confirmed that the body was that of a man in his fifties, his identity has not yet been proven, nor have the causes of death.

Bergerac prosecutors have launched an investigation, saying they have not been able to connect them to the reports of the disappearance at this time.
