DKZ’s Kyoungyoon apologizes to fans for his involvement in the JMS cult in a handwritten letter
It was recently revealed that Kyoungyoon, a member of the DKZ group, was a member of the Providence cult, also known as JMS.
The founder of this sect, Jeong Myeong Seok, is said to have sexually abused (groomed) and exploited many of his young followers.
Kyoungyoon became a member through his parents and In a lengthy interview with Dispatch, he spoke about his relationship with the cult.
On March 14, Kyoungyoon wrote a handwritten apology letter, which he sent out through the group’s fan cafe.
Here is the relevant letter:
” Good morning. It’s Kyoungyoon.
First of all I would like to sincerely apologize to the fans who must have been the most shocked and disappointed thanks to me. I was only supposed to bring good news to those who watched over me, loved me, and encouraged me, but I feel I made life difficult for them because of my mistakes.
Although I think it’s already too late, I came here now, really sorry. I didn’t have the courage to talk to you first. I was very scared… Because it was you who cared for me and encouraged me, I hesitated even more.
I’m too embarrassed to face the fans who came to the café because of me, and I was also afraid that if I spoke too hastily, the misunderstanding would grow. I didn’t know where to start and after constantly wondering how to express how sorry I am I figured I couldn’t put it off any longer and so here I am.
I have disappointed many people because of the clumsiness with which I approached things. The things I said in the past without much thought ended up leading to major misunderstandings. I blame myself and think about it so much I wanted to go back all along. I’m so sorry for not being up to it and for my many mistakes.
Finally, once again, I am sincerely sorry for disappointing you…”
On the other hand, some are asking for him to leave the group, while others want to give him a chance, saying that he was certainly influenced by his parents.
