On February 20, a post in an online community caught the attention of fans. Entitled “Idol Fan Gathering Excessive Fan ID Checks,” a fan complained about the security at the CRAVITY fan gathering held on February 18th and 19th.

La.e-Fan explained that many fans have complained that the security team that checks the personal information of fans entering the event has crossed the line.

However, this type of complaint didn’t just pop up in one online community, but in several. According to fans, the security team verified that the fans in attendance were the people who bought the tickets themselves. This should prevent the resale of the fan meeting event.

Fans explained that the security precautions were excessive and asked fans to provide the last digits of their photo IDs or not let them in because they looked different than their photo IDs.

Un.e fan an expliqué : “Shall I report the security team?” I couldn’t enter the fan meeting even though I had my ID with me. I showed them all my information and explained it to them, but they told me that I can’t enter because I don’t look like my ID.

Who looks the same between 18 and 27? I don’t even do cosmetic surgery and my friends and I were confused, but I overheard them (the security team) mocking me and saying “She shouldn’t have had so much cosmetic surgery”. It’s so offensive and what they’re doing just puts artists to shame. »

In another post, another fan wrote: “So they didn’t check my Kakao wallet (to confirm the purchase), but they asked me to provide my social security number. So I asked if I could just say the first five digits because there were so many people around…but they said I couldn’t come in.

So I spoke very quietly but they told me to say it louder because they can’t hear it. So I yelled my social security number… It’s so annoying because I need to protect my info and the photo ID clearly looked like me but they said it didn’t look like me at all. I’ve never been in such a strict place. »

After seeing these posts, many netizens agreed that the security measures were too strict and disrespectful.

Others, however, have found it normal to rigorously verify identities given the growing number of fraudulent resales.
