CAP Quince TEEN TOP – K-GEN
CAP finally leaves TEEN TOP.
In recent months, TEEN TOP has enjoyed a resurgence of popularity in South Korea, so much so that the group’s comeback after years of inactivity was recently announced.
On May 8, the group’s leader, CAP, was seen live on his YouTube channel to paint. During the live, he paused to chat with his followers while smoking a cigarette. However, many comments told him to quit smoking.
CAP then declared live:
“I used to smoke, so there were comments asking me not to smoke during my stream. You know what’s annoying about that? First of all, people who don’t normally watch my streams but are suddenly watching me because TEEN TOP is making a comeback and telling me not to and honestly I hate that kind of nonsense.
Why do these people come and spread this bullshit? They don’t usually consume my content, but coming to think of it, that’s because I’m part of a group and think what I’m doing could harm the group. If that’s the case and you don’t like me, you should have said something before I joined the military, or at least six months ago.
It can also seem to come out of nowhere, but damn it. I’m considering not participating in the comeback. My contract ends in July anyway. »
Following this, TOP Media shared the situation and stated:
“First of all, we apologize for causing concern to the fans and many others by the unfortunate actions and words during CAP’s live performance. He deeply reflects on what he did and regrets showing so many weaknesses on his part.”
The company had also specified that the topic of the group’s contract extension would be discussed after the comeback.
However, on May 11, TOP Media released a new statement, and this time we learn that CAP is leaving the group and TEEN TOP will eventually be reorganized into a four-piece group.
The agency said:
” Good morning. It’s TOPMedia.
First of all we would like to say a huge thank you to the fans who are sending lots of love to TEEN TOP.
After discussions with TEEN TOP members, we have decided that CAP is leaving the group, effective today. As a result, TEEN TOP plans to reorganize into a four-member system featuring: Chunji, Niel, Ricky, and Changjo.
Once again, we sincerely apologize for causing concern to many with CAP’s thoughtless words and actions. We too feel responsible for all these situations and promise to do our best to manage our artists. Details about the comeback will be announced again after sufficient discussion with the members.
thank you »
