CAP (ex Teen Top) explains that he started the controversy to be able to leave Teen Top
Teen Top leader CAP recently hosted a live stream to chat with fans. unfortunately, This live performance drew controversy because the idol was seen smoking.
When some asked him not to smoke, he got angry and even said that maybe the group’s comeback would then happen without him.
after this life Teen Top’s agency, TOP Media, announced on May 11 that CAP would be leaving Teen Top and not participating in the group’s comeback. As a result, Teen Top will return with only four members.
Shortly after the agency’s announcement, CAP apologized via its Instagram account and thanked fans and members so far.
Later that same day, CAP launched live video through its Baet Boy YouTube channel.
He took the opportunity to speak in more detail about his feelings about his controversial life and his departure from the group.
First he said: “I would first like to apologize to those who deserve an apology. A few days ago I brought up the possibility of leaving and I felt like I had already made up my mind.
Looking back, I was sorry the fans tuned in for saying it so suddenly. I’m not sorry to everyone, no, but sorry to the fans who were really looking forward to TEEN TOP. »
Then he added: “I had a feeling it would be like that. I’d never spoken openly about it to anyone before, but I’ve always wanted to retire from the band at some point.
I had actually already made up my mind when I said I would discuss the matter with the members and the agency and said it was kind of a lie to myself. Actually, I wanted to go from the start. »
He also clarified: “Personally, I don’t think my actions were wrong. I’m sorry I lied to the fans. It looked like our contracts would be renewed soon and that put me in a corner that made me take extremes. »
CAP then stated: “I actually wanted to talk to my dongsaengs about it, so I called them, but they were all busy, so there was no time or space to talk about it. Meanwhile, my guilt was mounting. I didn’t want to hurt other people because of this bad conscience.
I tried to raise the issue with the company and there were all sorts of exchanges of views surrounding the renewal of our contracts. So things got complicated and I started thinking if I wanted to cut my tie as safe as possible I should make trouble, then apologize and leave.
I knew if I caused problems, it would damage my team’s image. But when I leave the team, the root of the problem is gone, and I was fine with that. I know I somehow acted selfishly without consulting anyone. »
Finally he said: “I went to the company, saw the members face to face and said, ‘I’m sorry I acted on my own.’ It was a clean finish for the members and for the company. I explained to the members why I wanted to leave, I opened up to them and it almost brought me to tears.
Jonghyun (Changjo) called me that evening. Niel couldn’t be there during the day due to time constraints, but he texted me later that evening. Even though we never say that to each other, he said, “Thank you and I love you.”
We’ve been together for 15 years and we’re so close that we don’t say these things to each other. Actually, I should apologize to the members for my actions. But they understood me and saw my position, and I was grateful for that.
It was painful, but at the same time I was happy to finally be able to continue. But I can say with certainty that my members and I get along well and always will. We may no longer be affiliated with the same company, but that has nothing to do with our personal lives. We’re just too close as a family for that. »
