BTS Suga donates to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria on his birthday Kpop News

On the occasion of his birthday, BTS Suga made a significant donation to the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

BTS Suga Makes Big Birthday Donation for Earthquake Relief in Turkey and Syria

On March 9, non-governmental organization (NGO) Save the Children announced that BTS member Suga made a generous donation for the victims of the Turkey-Syria earthquake.

Notably, March 9 is also the rapper’s birthday. Save the Children revealed that Suga has donated a total of 100 million won, equivalent to US$75,900. The donation would go to relief efforts to help earthquake victims and help them recover.

Suga shared his thoughts on his donation. He expressed his sympathy to the survivors affected by the disaster and offered his condolences to the victims. Suga also hoped his donation would be able to help children who suffered from the disaster and help them recover.

With the present donation, Save the Children will use Suga’s contribution to fund relief materials. This includes items such as school supplies, winter blankets, mattresses and other essentials that are important in disaster areas.

“Many people, families and children have suffered great damage as a result of this disaster. I offer my condolences to the earthquake victims. I hope this donation will benefit the children who experienced this unfortunate event and that it will be used to provide relief supplies.”

On February 6, Turkey and Syria were hit locally by two devastating earthquakes (magnitudes 7.8 and 7.5). Two more waves (magnitudes 6.4 and 5.6) followed on February 20 and 27.

In the first wave (February 6), BTS label HYBE will donate KRW 500 million (US$388,900) to Save the Children. Meanwhile, members J-Hope and Jimin have made generous donations of 100 million each to UNICEF through the Korean Committee.

This isn’t the first time Suga has donated. Suga also donated to wildfire victims on his previous birthday on March 9, 2022.

He also donated to pediatric cancer patients and 100 million won for COVID-19 prevention efforts on March 11, 2021.

On March 9, 2018, Suga had also sent gifts of Korean beef to 39 orphanages under the ARMY name, fulfilling his promise to fans during a fan signing event in 2014.
