Arirang is the most famous and popular traditional and folk song of Korean music both in Korea and abroad.
Most of the different versions of the song Arirang describe the strains experienced by the travelers who are the subject of the song when trying to cross a mountain pass. Arirang is actually the name of one of these mountain passes, and this is why Arirang became the title of the song.
Why did fans request this song? Recently, BTS’ Jungkook went viral for the group’s performance of “Arirang” alongside F(X), IOI, SHINee, Block B and FT Island at KCON 2016 in France.
BTS’ vocal line really showed off its prowess during the cover and many were impressed by Jungkook’s low vocal range during his solo part.
We understand why fans wanted to hear Jungkook sing this traditional title again!
