BTS Jimin’s “Like Crazy” dialogue isn’t actually from the movie of the same name

avant BTS Jiminthe solo album by FACE came out, he teased that the title track “Like Crazy” was inspired by one of his favorite films, leading ARMYs to believe that was the case Notebook since he mentioned it several times…

He has since spoken out on the 2011 American romance drama How crazy influenced his song of the same name. Knowing this now, ARMYs could often spot the references in the song and music video.

Still, there is one aspect of the song that has confused some. Contrary to popular belief, the dialogue in “Like Crazy” is not from the film.

Instead of the film’s original actress, Felicity JonesShe was a voice actress Shelby Young. She has 3.5 million followers on TikTok!

Shelby shared a video on TikTok after noticing “Like Crazy” was posted. She excitedly revealed it was her voice saying: “I think we could go on like this forever. Trust me.”

I didn’t know it was coming out tonight! But do you know Jimin from BTS? Well he just finished his solo album and a music video for his new song “Like Crazy” and does that voice sound familiar at the beginning? … This is my first foray into the world of K-pop in any form. I’m so happy !

Of course ARMYs were curious how she got the job. So Shelby made a short story on TikTok.

Basically, I just got an email from my manager back in January saying Jimin’s label contacted me and asked about the voiceover, which is crazy.

Shelby also shared that she recommended her friend Joe Brogieto make the male part. He also recently shared a video on his social media in which he turns out to be the voice of the man in Like Crazy.

Which is so cool that I got my buddy Joe on board for the men’s part. The label just said if I had any male voiceover friends to take with me.

Shelby clarified that the dialogue was also originally for the song and not directly from the film. However, they were given an audio sample from the film to recreate the character tones.

We were sent a script and then an audio excerpt of the film How crazy just to match the tone, but it was original dialogue for the song.

The actors were able to work from home but collaborated via Zoom. Shelby ended her story by expressing her gratitude to Jimin, GREAT MUSICand of course ARMY.

Joe and I have our own home studios to record voiceovers, so we just hopped into our booths, went on Zoom to enjoy working together, did a few takes, broadcast it, and now it’s in the song. I am so grateful to Jimin and BIGHIT MUSIC for this opportunity.
