BTS’ Jimin opens up about his insecurities in an honest interview
After topping the Billboard Hot 100 and being nominated for the Grammys, BTS embarked on a second chapter focused on her solo career. As part of this new chapter, Jimin posed for Vogue Korea and gave an honest interview.
In the past two years, BTS has achieved remarkable success. Ironically, however, Jimin himself felt that he only knew the scene at the time. ” The last two years have become almost endless. I’m still young, but I’ve only played on stage for most of my life.”remembers Jimin.
“The lack of public response was discouraging. I worked hard but nothing worked and everything felt like a rehearsal. I didn’t feel like I was right. During our last performances, I kept thinking, “Are you okay? Can I keep doing this? Did we work for it? »
As BTS’ schedules slowed down, Jimin used this time to become more intimate with himself. “I thought about myself, what I liked, what I didn’t like, my preferences. I had a lot of time to think and I learned a lot.” said the singer
In Korean culture, stars are expected to be humble and not show off too much. “Maybe it’s because I’m young, but I find it hard to open up to friends other than BTS members.”explains Jimin.
“I often feel arrogant and I don’t like that. It’s nice to be able to be completely honest when speaking to other members. » he added.
Although Jimin is known for his flawless vocal range and unique timbre, he still strives to perfect his singing techniques.
“It’s hard for me to be happy with my voice. Songs that require a lot of technique and that I like are hard to remember and sing live, so I’m trying to find an alternative. I focused on my unique style before developing a solid foundation.”he commented.
“So I’ll go back to the beginning. I try to keep it simple and direct. This process is difficult but also enjoyable because I can review everything with JungKook who is doing a great job as the lead singer. » he added.
On the other hand, Jimin will release his first solo album FACE on the 25th, and the track “Set Me Free Pt.2” will be previewed on the 17th.
