BTS fans slam Ticketmaster for ‘cheating’ during Suga Tour presale
BTS’ Suga surprised fans by announcing a solo world tour, becoming the first member of the group to host one.
Tickets for the US leg of BTS’ forthcoming solo tour, Suga, which will perform in April and May, will no longer be sold due to “extremely high demand” during the first ticket sale.
Ticketmaster announced on Thursday (March 2) via its Twitter account that due to “extremely high demand” during presales by its member ARMYs, it will not proceed with planned presales and general sales to general fans.
Ticketmaster previously announced that due to popular demand, 100% of all available tickets will go on sale during the first presale for ARMYs members.
“If all tickets are purchased during the ARMY MEMBER presale, there will be no additional sales”they confirmed.
Some fans have been taken to social media with their sightings of multiple tickets still available on the site, despite being banned and reserved as ‘official platinum’ spots.
“Official Platinum” tickets are typically tickets reserved by Ticketmaster due to demand and offered at a higher price. Fans are now asking Ticketmaster to issue Official Platinum tickets at face value.
Ticketmaster has not yet commented.
The comments section was not happy at all. Netizens have criticized Ticketmaster, particularly in relation to pricing, and some have even gone so far as to say that scalpers (someone who buys to resell at a high price) could be cheaper.
