Boys Planet is accused of favoritism in announcing 3 global voting rankings

We are fast approaching the finale of the Boys Planet show and fans are excited and anxious to discover the 9 members who will make up the final group.

We recently discovered the 18 finalists who will compete in the finals and their ranking.

On April 17th, Mnet uploaded a partial spoiler of the current rankings for the first part of the Boys Planet global final vote. Three of the top 18 rankings have been announced, reflecting the vote count as of April 17th.

Only one position was shared for the top nine candidates: Sung Hanbin, who has remained at the No. 1 position for the duration of the show so far. As of this latest mid-show ranking, he’s at #3.

Two names were announced for the rest of the ranking: Park Hanbin at No. 10^th place and Kim Taerae at 11^th Location.

869,321 votes were cast in Korea while 3,443,787 votes were cast worldwide.

Korea’s votes make up 20% of the final score, and global votes make up the remaining 80%.

However, the fact that only three positions of Korean competitors have been announced has got netizens talking.

According to some, this would show a clear favoritism on the part of the show. The general theory is that Korean voters will “freak out” at these candidates’ low rankings and become more serious about voting for them if they are their preferred candidate.
