According to TechRadar, BLACKPINK’s performance is expected to attract 250 million live viewers on YouTube, where the scene was live streamed.
Rolling Stone even considered the segment the “most streamed act” at Coachella based on data collected by TechRadar. With many of BLACKPINK’s memorable sets, it’s understandable that their headliner has gone viral around the world.
“The plan was to bring a 250 million whoops live stream to the platform.”

The K-pop sensation also pulled off a historic feat on April 12, 2019 when he made his first appearance for Coachella. BLINK were blown away by their performances and were considered one of the major highlights of the event despite being an underheadliner.

People have had a mixed reaction to BLACKPINK’s impressive viewership
While most netizens were drawn to BLACKPINK’s memorable performance at Coachella 2023, they also expressed their amazement on a forum about their streams. Many expressed shock at BLACKPINK’s 250 million viewership, cementing the group’s status as “queens.”
“Looking at the comments, does it look like the numbers are right? Great.”
“Impressive how the server held up.”
“YouTube is indeed global. The server would have collapsed somewhere else.”
“Even in our country, you find the audience depending on the time of day. If you search “Coachella’s Most Streamed Act” all you’ll see is that they counted BP and the numbers look legit. Also, Calvin Harris played past BP so I think those numbers are really just for BP.”
However, during the discussion, some were skeptical about the figures collected in terms of audience. Other netizens commented that the 250 million total views affected all Coachella performances and not just BLACKPINK.
“Aren’t those the numbers that things like the Super Bowl get? BLACKPINK certainly gained a lot of viewers, but 250 million seems impossible.”
“It wouldn’t make sense for anyone to estimate 250 million viewers for a single band if bigger artists couldn’t achieve that.”
“It’s ‘anticipated,’ which means it’s not a fact yet. It’s just a prediction that it will garner that many views. The actual data will only be known after the 2nd week.”
“These numbers apply to Coachella as a whole. Not just for one act.”
