“Big 4” Q2 2023 releases
The first quarter of 2023 brought us many kpop comebacks and debuts, and this was just the beginning!
Kyobo Securities recently released its entertainment companies’ quarterly report and announced planned album release plans for artists from the Big 4 labels.
Let’s see together what the big kpop companies have planned for the second quarter of 2023.
- EMOTIONAL
HYBE has been very productive since the beginning of the year.
In January, the label released the debut single album from New jeansthe 5thth mini album en TXT and the first Japanese single album by THE SSERAFIM.
In February, the unit’s debut single album was released BSS of Seventeen as well as the first mini solo album by Hwang Min Hyun.
Finally in March jimin will release his first solo album on the 24th and fromis_9 will come back too.
Kyobo Securities is also anticipating this SUGA from BTS will release his first solo album as well as the comeback albums in the second quarter of this year by ENHYPEN and THE SSERAFIM.
- JYP entertainment
JYP artists also had a busy start to the year. In January, TWICE made their thunderous comeback with “Moonlight Sunrise”.
Then in February Stray Kids released their first Japanese album The Sounds.
a march, TWICE released his 12thth mini album and NMIXX releases its 3rdth mini album.
That’s what Kyobo Securities predicts Extraordinary heroes, Stray Kids and ITZY will return in the second quarter of this year.
- YG entertainment
YG had a quieter first quarter. However, it will be marked by the solo debut of Jisoo de BLACK PINK who will release his first solo album “ME” on March 31st.
After that, YG is expected to release a long-awaited debut album from the group. Baby Monsterscheduled to take place in the second quarter of 2023.
- SM entertainment
Finally, SM Entertainment is having an especially busy 2023. In January, NKT 127 released their repackage album, HAVE the beat released their first mini album. We also had the first solo album by Yesung de Super Junior as well as a special album in February.
Speaking of February, NCT dream released a second Japanese album, TVXQ made a comeback at 50th single and Key by SHINee made his solo comeback with a repackage album.
Mars is the first solo album by Onew de SHINee and the return of Kai with his 3rd mini album.
The next quarter will also be busy. Aespa will return in April with their debut album.
The unit of NCT, DoJaeJungwill release their first mini album, Taeyeon will release their 5th mini-album and EXO should make a comeback. Then in May SHINEe will release their 8th studio album, and NCT Solo will release the first mini album.
Additionally, Kyobo Securities forecasts that SM Entertainment will release a new girl group in June through the end of the second quarter.
