BAP’s Himchan sentenced Soompi to 10 months in 1 of his 3 sexual harassment cases

Himchan was sentenced to 10 months in prison for his first sexual harassment case.

In 2018, the BAP member was accused of sexual harassment by a young woman in her 20s while they were vacationing with two other men and two other women at a holiday home in Namyang.

While the police had been called to the scene immediately after the facts, Himchan had since denied the facts, believing the exchanges between them to be mutual and consensual.

In February 2021, he was eventually sentenced to 10 months in prison. He also had to complete a 40-hour sexual violence program.

The young man then appealed.

Guilty of drunk driving soon after, he apologized for his sexual molestation conviction and drunk driving arrest.

Then, during his appeals hearing in 2022, Himchan admitted all the charges against him and changed his position before the court. After pleading not guilty since the beginning of the case, he had actually pleaded guilty and admitted his guilt to the sexual harassment, expressing his desire to find a financial arrangement with the victim to settle this case .

However, the victim refused financial compensation, so the process continued.

On February 9, Himchan’s verdict was reached and he was sentenced to 10 months in prison. He is also required to complete a 40-hour sexual violence program and pay a sum to be paid to the victim.

However, Himchan appealed the verdict again, but the final verdict came today and his verdict was upheld. Himchan is therefore sentenced to 10 months in prison.
