Bang Chan (Stray Kids) apologizes for comments about other idols and says he wasn’t targeting IVE – K-GEN

Bang Chan apologized.

On May 14, the Stray Kids member appeared in front of his fans and spoke about Music Bank in Paris.

When people asked him about his experience at the concert, he said:

“I don’t know, maybe I’ll pass for a boomer. Because the generations are different, and I know that too. But I feel like we’ve gotten to a point where greeting someone isn’t basic manners anymore… Because, you know, when you see someone walking by and you say hello, and then that person doesn’t answer , will you… I’m like, ‘What the…?’ All right…’

But I feel like we’ve come to a point where this generation is allowed to do that. Not caring about it…because there have been a few scenarios where that has happened.

At first I was like, “Okay, what… okay, that’s…” But the more I thought about it, the more I thought, “Maybe I’m exaggerating too much.” Maybe I’m thinking about it too much. Maybe I’m just a boomer.’ I think that was the whole vibe. That’s one of the things I remember from the music bank in Paris. I mean, I won’t name names! But yes, there are people … but I think it’s a different generation. I guess I have to live with that, right? »

Then speculation started among the fans and for no apparent reason, several fans started spreading the rumor that it was IVE. Many Stray Kids fans immediately believed the rumor and began insulting IVE members on social media.

Then, on May 17, Bang Chan apologized for his words and clarified that the artist he was talking about was not IVE, contrary to rumors, in order to stop the unjustified attacks on the girl group.

On Instagram, Bang Chan said:

“Hello, this is Bang Chan from Stray Kids.

I apologize for the offense caused by the comments I made at a recent live performance.

I thought about the impact my words and behavior can have on others, and I thought deeply about myself.

I want to mention that it wasn’t my intention to name a specific artist and my comments weren’t related at all to the artist that people are mentioning right now.

I would like to sincerely apologize to the artist who was hurt by my careless words. I sincerely apologize.

I’ll be more careful about what I say to make sure something like this doesn’t happen again.

I would like to sincerely apologize again. »
