Agust D’s “D-DAY” Scores Top Selling First Day by a Solo Artist in Hanteo History
Who better than BTS to break a BTS record?
Suga has proven its worldwide popularity with a huge new achievement!
On April 21, Suga released his long-awaited debut album, D-Day, and it only took a few hours before it not only became the best-selling album in his home country, but also went down in history.
According to the Hanteo chart – one of the two major music charts in South Korea – the album sold a remarkable 1,072,311 copies on the first day of release.
Hanteo shares real-time sales data so fans and people in the industry can see how a brand new release is performing from day one or even within the first few hours of its availability.
That number surpasses previous record-holder Jimin, also a member of BTS, who was most recently the top-selling solo artist on day one with the release of FACE in March. It had about 1.02 million sales in the first 24 hours.
Additionally, the MV for the album’s title track, “Haegeum,” surpassed 10 million views less than 24 hours after its release.
Congratulations!
